The Oxford Youth Hostel The youth hostel is behind the railway station. Our rooms were very nice and comfortable. There were a lot of items for breakfast. For example: bacon, scrambled eggs, baked beans, tomatoes, sausages etc; a typical English breakfast. We could also eat cereals, fruit, and bread and jam and so on. Our rooms were on the second floor and the restaurant was in the ground floor. There are also a library and a lounge in the youth hostel. You can play billiard and watch TV in the lounge. At the reception you can buy post cards and stamps. There is also a nice garden behind the youth hostel. There you can play football or sit and talk with other people. We always got a lunch packet with a sandwich, water, fruit, crisps and chocolate from the youth hostel. Dinner was also very tasty at the youth hostel. They always offered chips for dinner. But there were also other things to eat, like lasagna, potatoes, chicken and so on. We liked the youth hostel. By Michelle and Anna
The great day in Oxford First we made a rally. That was very funny with the group. Then we were on the Carfax Tower. That is 23 meter high and has got 99 stairs. That was very cool and it has a good view over Oxford. Then we went shopping In the afternoon we were in the Christ Church College. That was cool and a great college. Harry Potter was there and they made a scene. We saw the dining room of the Christ Church College. Harry Potter was there too. Then we were in the church. We lighted a candle and gave a donation. That was the day in Oxford and it was a lot of fun. By Jasmin, Sina, Feline, Suad, Lea and Ariane
On day 2 we made a sightseeing tour on a bus around oxford and went to the Oxford University Museum and the Pitt Rivers Musuem. The museum was great. There we saw many things, for example a totem pole, skulls and so on. After 1.5 hours we left the museum. Then we went to the bus station. Our bus had a problem so we had to wait for the next bus. The next bus came at 11.45 am. Everybody went on the bus and 5 minutes later we were in the city. We looked a little bit around but we had to be back at the Bonn square at 1 pm. There were five groups. Everybody bought something (for example T-Shirts). Later we went home to get ready for dinner. At night some didn't sleep and joked around. By Simon, Isam, Kevin, Fabian
Blenheim Palace
On our third day in Oxford we visited the Blenheim Palace and met there Mrs. Dreeser and her group. In Blenheim Palace we walked around and we did two rallies. That was funny. Winston Churchill, former prime minister of England during World War II, was born in Blenheim Palace but he didn’t live there. We learned a lot about Blenheim Palace and its paintings. There they had a lot of rooms and the rooms had a lot of decorations with gold. We also listened to and watched the Blenheim Palace THE UNTOLD STORY. Later we drove with a little train to an adventure park. We played their over an hour. There was a big maze; it’s the biggest in Europe. That was great. In the afternoon we went to the youth center where Mrs Dreeser stayed with her group. It was funny. We played football and talked to the other group. Kevin, a boy from the other group celebrated his birthday. There was a big cake. We all sang a birthday song for him. Later we had a barbecue with hot dogs, burger and salad. That was very tasty. We really loved this day and had a lot of fun. By Lea, Gesa, Miriam, Meret, Hannah and Marisa
